Hey TFP -

On the side wall of my inground pool, there is a place with a fitting where I screw in the hose to connect the pool cleaner. A couple days ago, I noticed the cleaner hose had disconnected and was just floating in the pool. I have tried to reconnect several times, but as soon as the cleaner turns on, the force of the water is pushing enough to disconnect the cleaner hose connection. I should note, I am quite familiar with connecting/disconnecting the cleaner, so this is a brand new issue.

I've used my finger and felt inside the plastic fitting piece on the pool wall. Normally there is a notch to catch on the cleaner hose, but that notch is barely there and feels like it's worn down. Is this something I can just get from my local PAP store and replace myself or do I have to call professionals? Pool is 5.5 years old.

BTW, you may need a pair of channel-lock pliers to unscrew your connector from the wall (gently with TLC).

Also please, make sure your pool pump is OFF, when you pull it out and OFF during the swap.
