Is this pollen??

Hey guys, I'm having issues with my pool again, fighting algae, I've been dealing with the same issue for a couple years now and it's back again, but aside from that issue does anyone know if the beige/brown stuff in the photo is pollen?? I do have lots of shrubs and trees around the pool, and am now using the skimmer socks which are amazing, and everytime I go to clean the skimmers there's this brown stuff all over the bright white sock. ???

Also, in regards to algae, are their algae OR Pollen out there that can be the same color as the orange clay dirt that we have here in the Carolinas, and in my yard. I've included a picture of this also for reference. This color stuff is what I keep finding on the bottom of my pool floors and in the seams of the liner. it's not gritty, but moves quickly when I touch.

Go look at windowsills and patio furniture. Are they covered with the same stuff?

no they are not, this is the only place ive seen

normally the pollen is green on my vehicles, patio furniture and lawn chairs but only in the early spring do I see that. I haven't seen this beige/brown stuff until I started using the sock this spring.

The only beige I see is your fingers. Could it be dead algae? Have you slammed the pool latelty? Also if you wanna save some money but the hairnets off of Amazon. That's what my skimmer sock looks like too.

It's pollen for sure in my end.

Neighbors red pine is dropping pollen nodules
in my pool.

I doubt that is algae.

thanks borjus and pyrodav, i think this stuff is pollen, when I rub it, it kind of rolls or clumps, and THANKS FOR THE ADVICE ON THE HAIRNETS, I've been paying $5 for 5 socks so I will give this a try.
