Is this part of a lateral?

Found lodged in the return jet nozzle. Seems thin to be from the standpipe.

Laterals have horizontal slits cut in them pretty much their entire length. Might be a piece of stand pipe, could be from something else. Are you getting sand dumped into your pool? If it was stand pipe or lateral missing that big a piece you should be seeing sand blown into the pool.
