Is this a fair quote for outdoor power outlet installation?

Hi guys,

My pool is currently under construction as seen in my build thread. I asked the electrical subcontractor, who happens to be the partner of my PB, to give me an estimate for installing four outdoor power outlets around the pool (blue and green lines), and a flood light above the equipment pad as shown in the image below.

As a reference, distance between the equipment pad and the rear fence is about ~65~70 feet, and the length of the pool and the spa combined is 45 feet.

Electrical sub quoted me $1154 for these additions, which includes the covered/waterproof(?) outdoor power outlets.

Is this quote fair? I would like to get these electrical work done while all the grounds around the pool are already dug up, and before the pavers cover them up. I usually get multiple quotes from many electrical companies for such jobs, but I don't think that is possible if I want to do this job during the pool build. $1154 isn't much compared to the price of the pool build, but I just don't like getting taken advantage of since the electrical sub knows that I am pretty much locked in with him.

Any input would be appreciated.

Jason

5 runs. Probably a full days work. $100/hour +parts. Its in the ballpark. Could you find someone to do it cheaper, sure. If he is doing the other electrical work i would just go with him.

I got two new outdoor outlets added for my AGP. A dedicated outlet for the pump and a convenience outlet for lights, radios, etc. I paid almost $800. So to me, your quote seems like a pretty decent price for four outlets at such a distance, plus your light. Just my two cents worth.

The electrician on my job quoted me $500 per outlet and said he knew it was a ripoff but he had no choice. He told me after he was gone and after the electrical inspection to do it all myself. I did. I added 2 plugs homerunned back to the equipment pad each on their own circuit. I followed all electrical codes. I also installed my own equipment pad light.

That said, that price sounds pretty good to me for what you are getting.
