Hello everyone. We just became the owners of a passed down bestway 22x12 pool. Our friends used it last year. Cleaned the liner and stored it. They were kind enough to have their sons come and install it in our yard. But upon closer examination we see a lot of lighter spots where it looks like the liner is thinning? My husband is afraid these will open into holes flooding our yard and neighbors. The main area is where the liner was folded and you see a line of white Can I just patch these areas to be extra cautious? Or would it be best to buy a new liner or (what my husband wants ) a new pool. Really bad pics included.

Welcome to TFP!!

Yes, you can patch the liner with vinyl patch like this (not recommending this particular product or store). Preventively patching it could give you some ease of mind.

Replacing the liner, as long and the frame is in good condition, is fail proof. I don’t know what is the cost difference between a new liner and a brand new pool or even if the liner is less expensive than a brand new pool.

Are those two visible white spots the only ones? If there are too many of those I’d get a new liner/pool.

There are several. We found a liner available and it is about $350. New pool would be a lot more. Frame I still in great shape and pump works well. Plus our friends had built stairs and deck to it which they also set up for us so it would be great to at least use this setup for a year.
