Is it worth the expense to buy a semi-inground pool for above ground installation

I have an existing above ground pool in PA that needs to be replaced (old and previous owners didn't take care of it and now due to leaks and heavy rain/snow this winter, it is collapsing).
I have been doing a lot of research and would like to make a worthwhile investment. I'm looking for a 24' Above Ground Round Pool (I built a new deck to the old pool last year and have drainage issues across my yard, so the size and above ground are not negotiable). I could buy a steel wall/frame pool for $1000, install it myself, and hope it lasts 10 years. I could buy a $3000-4000 aluminum, resin, or hybrid pool and hope it lasts 20-30 years. Or I've seen a few on ground/semi-inground pools for $5000-$6000 that would hopefully last my lifetime (I'm 37 and would be quite happy to never move) that are aluminum slat. In particular, I've been comparing the Aquasport 52, Oasis, and Optimum.
Does anyone have advice (hopefully with something to back up their opinion) on whether it is worth the extra expense to go for a semi-inground pool on an above ground installation? Or should I just go with a higher quality rolled wall above ground?
I use my pool for exercise and relaxing about 3 months out of the year and don't have kids but entertain large groups of friends and family at least once or twice a week.
Thanks in advance for any guidance,
Tracy

Welcome to TFP! Good to have you here :)

Looks like around $100 per year for all three options. So as long as you can spare the $6K now, you can choose based on something more interesting than money :)

Theoretically, you would need to consider lost income on the difference. If you did, then it would be around $200 per year for the most expensive pool. But still not enough for cost to be much of a factor in your decision.

I mostly commented to bump your thread. All the best with your decision :)
