Is it safe to swim in pool with D.E. in it?

I did a back flush earlier today, and afterwards noticed that D.E. was returning into the pool from the return lines. We opened up the filter and noticed that the grids were in pretty bad shape, with a few large holes in the fabric. I ordered a new set of filter grids, but in the meantime, is it okay to swim in the pool? The water is a cloudy, but I can see the bottom of the shallow end. We also turned the pump off so more doesn’t come back into the pool. TIA

For safety, we like for you to see even the deep end before swimming. Chemically, it is safe to swim.

You will need circulation in the pool to introduce chlorine......keeping it sanitary and algae free. Do not turn your pump off for more than 24 hours or so. If you have a multiport valve, you can bypass the filter and circulate the water.
