Is constantly adding muriatic acid bad

I have two fountains that drain into the pool and it is always making the PH rise. So i add muriatic acid all the.

Other than the expense and bother is there any problem with adding muratic acid all the time?

ok, that is great. My wife really likes the sound of the water falling and was a bit upset when I told her I was thinking about filling in the fountain and planting something there.
I will just keep adding acid.

Run a full set of tests and plug your numbers into PoolMath. Look at the CSI number. You should see it between -0.3 and +0.3 Keeping the pH in range is great (and necessary to prevent damage to heaters and such) but the other parameters can also affect things and make the water damage the plaster. See what raising and lowering pH, TA, CH, even temperature does to the CSI. You may find you need to raise TA or CH or keep the pH at the upper end of the swimmable range to prevent damage.

Unless you're willing to convert one of those into a muriatic acid fountain.....you're pretty much stuck with it! No harm at all.

Awesome!!!! A Muriatic fountain, smoking and steaming all the time. Like a geyser at yellowstone! If it wasn't for the kids I would do it!

Ok, I ran a full test and plugged it into pool math and it came out with CYI as -0.09 witch shows me to be balanced.

Is it ok to keep ph between 7.5 and 7.8 because that is easier than keeping it at 7.5.
