Is a bypass manifold necessary???

I'm getting an autopilot system, and my old one had the manifold with swg cell on my old pool. I'm thinking it's unnecessary, as I rarely run the vs pump at high speed. Only time I do is to backwash, or pump out too much water. Thoughts???

What model pump will you be using?

Model filter?

Your 1.85HP pump is not going to have enough flow to require a bypass on your Autopilot SWG.

Eventually, but I always put a bypass on that. I don't know why that's relevant.
It is relevant because a heater adds resistance to your plumbing and will further constrain your pumps maximum flow rate.
