I joined in 2019, but did not complete the introduction process. I jumped into different forums to get smart on pool maintenance, once my husband made me take over. In 2005, we purchased a house with a 1985 vintage 20x40 gunite or concrete pool--40,000 gallons. We always had a leak and have had about 10 leak detection visits over the years--once replacing the skimmer, but mostly fixing the leak in the lights that we don't use because bugs are attracted to the lights or along the wall tiles. Last year, I decided to make the 10' deep end shallow--5.5'--because, at 76, it's harder to net dead frogs and brush at that depth in a pool this wide. I hired a contractor who did just that, using 4'x8' foam blocks, concrete, then PebbleTec plaster. When we left the country 5 months after work was finished, contractor emptied pool to fix leaks which at that time were in lights; cracks developed across the pool bottom in 3 areas. He will work on those cracks this October.
I don't know how to complete the profile, but will check "Profile" to see if that will help me.
