Intex Pure Spa Bubble - Filter Suction Direction

Hello everyone,

I'm not sure in which direction the water flow should be. In our Intex Pure Spa Bubble, the filter cartridge is connected at the top (highlighted in blue in the picture).

When the pump is running, the water is drawn in from the bottom (highlighted in red in the picture) and pumped through the filter into the pool at the top. Shouldn't it be the other way around? Meaning, the water should be drawn through the filter into the pump?

Looks like The water should go into the pump from the spa through the part circled in red.
This appears to be an anti entrapment suction cover.
This manual shows that the filter & intake is at the bottom.
Not sure if this is the manual for your exact spa
