I posted in another thread about cleaning this thing up but now a new topic vastly different, so new thread.

Got a new to me 4 person Intex PureSpa. Tub inflates and holds, holds water, have all the parts. Started with a E90 error and fixed that with a new impeller. Then started with E96 which is a general fault.

Unplugged and let sit for a few hours. I also did my best to burp the system. It started up and I ran the filter and bubbles. It ran great for a few minutes and I added 2 teaspoons of Ahhclean. I let it run after that while I watched. After about 20 minutes, the E96 came back on. I got the E96 with the filter attached and not.

My research has shown that it is air or an electrical problem. My GFCI plug is plugged into a timer box that I have my pool on and from there to a GFCI outlet on a 20 Amp breaker. On the same breaker is a 110v mini split system. I have had no issues running my 1.5HP pool pump hour on, hour off 24 hours a day while the mini-split is running.

I am wondering if I am getting interference with both GFCIs. I took the pump inside and plugged it into the wall. It is turned on but is not heating, filtering or blowing air. I can say that I inflated the lid and tub using the pump plugged into the same inside outlet with no problems.

So.... should I just run it to a non-gfci outlet? Replace the cord? Missing something?

Thanks

Is the timer currently off? Those intex gfci plugs trip every time power is interrupted & must be reset.
Also a spa heater is a different animal as far as loads are concerned. It should ideally be on its own circuit not with a 1.5hp pool pump + a mini split.
That pool pump should be on its own dedicated circuit as well.
Aside from all those other things- most plug in timers are rated for 12-15 amps so u are likely pushing its limit with just the pool pump. The weakest link (timer or device) will burn up before your 20 amp breaker ever trips.

My testing was with the spa only on the timer. Once I get it all working, I do plan on adding a dedicated outlet just for this.

I am going to try a new non- GFCI plug directly to the 20amp GFCI outlet and I ordered a replacement GFCI plug as well.

After about an hour testing it with just the power on, the E96 popped up.

The gfci’s can “fight” with each other especially if one is quite sensitive/weak & has tripped alot in the past which is a large possibility since it’s not new.
