I just opened my first pool 3 days ago.
So is it advisable to not use the Intex aeration feature at all if the chemicals are balanced?
Or is it good to do some aeration to avoid water stagnation/etc., even though if that means pH will go up?
I've lowered the pH from 8.0 to 7.2 with muriatic acid last night, and after 24 hs it's now back at 7.6.
Not sure how much it has been affected by the kid's splashing and by the Intex Hydro Aeration Technology (thanks to another thread I confirmed what I had suspected about that Intex cap which was nowhere in the owner's manual).
My TA is 140, and I was trying to lower it given the rapid pH increase I'm seeing every day. Perhaps now that the cap is covering the air valve, I can manage the pH better.
BTW, the 9 oz of 15% acid didn't do much to lower the TA, I need to try again.
Thanks!
