Intex Dual Suction Outlets

I am curious if anyone has just plugged up one of the suction outlets and use one suction outlet instead of the 2. And what in your opinion works better? I am considering blocking one off but don't want to mess anything up. I keep seeing mixed reviews about the dual suction. I have an intex wall skimmer and it seems like that could get more suction. Thanks for you help!!!!

More common around here is that people have a wall skimmer and convert the second intake to a return.

Yep, I installed the Hayward skimmer, so I plugged one of the suction holes and I still use the other. I keep it about one 1/4 open, so if something crazy happens and a bird jams up my skimmer, I will still have water flowing to my pump.

I had plugged mine, but now I use it for a fountain I made.

When you had it plugged did it work better?

I plugged mine from the beginning, so can’t tell you if it would have been better or worse to not plug it. But plenty of water flow comes from the skimmer.

Same here, installed a Hayward skimmer, but I actually used one of the outlet lines as the new inlet since it sits lower in the water than the original inlet line.
So I end up plugging the second outlet, and the original inlet.
