Intermittent aerator?

My pool guy just replaced all the PVC plumbing after the pump since it had a leak. He said that he didn’t reroute anything, just replaced it. But now my aerator comes on only intermittently like it’s one of the zones that it cycles through for the pop ups. It’s driving me crazy. Does it need to be replumbed or why would it do this?? The skinny pipe in the pic is for the aerator.

Welcome to TFP!

In your first picture, the 3-way Jandy valve either routes return flow to your IFCS or to your returns/water feature and your aerator. The smaller 3/4" line is the aerator - close the valve on that line and it will shut off the aerator. Since you don't have automated valves, you need to do this manually.

Suggest you read thru Pool Care Basics and have a look at some of our YouTube videos as well.

Based on your present plumbing, to have the aerator on you will need to adjust the Jandy valve to allow at least some water into the right side plumbing. This will reduce flow to your IFCS and also return some water thru the returns/water feature.

What does the larger pipe on the right supply?

Prior to the replumb, was the aerator on the left or right of the Jandy valve?
