interesting observation

I just opened my pool late afternoon. Added 7 gallons of 10% Walmart chlorine (Pool Essentials) from October 2019. 4 hours later I get 19 FC . According to pool math it is 6% (maybe higher since I tested about 4 hours later). Not bad for 8+ months old liquid chlorine.

I had 12 gallons of Wal-Mart Pool Essentials 10% liquid chlorine left over from last year. Date was in June 2019. Because of Covid, couldn't go to Wal-Mart and get fresh and besides, something just felt wrong about throwing out $35 worth of bleach.

So I went ahead and assumed it was 6% at least, and dosed the pool accordingly. Tested FC after 30 min of circulation, did some back calculating, and determined it was actually 6.5%. I do the same thing for each new jug I open of this batch, just to make sure of the percentage.

You're right, not bad for 11 month old liquid chlorine!
