I was in to Pinch today to get my water tested (I do it to compare what they get vs my TF100). I am still coming down from a SLAM with a FC of 9 (pretty sure about the FC number of 9). She tests my water, hands me my printout and tells me it is my FC is 5. I say that is about 1/2 what I get at home. She says that 5 is as high as they go with out diluting and testing. Hmm... Then I see on her sheet that she has me at 90 CYA when my daughter, my wife and myself all are between 58 and 65. Another Hmmm...

Which begs the question.........why bother having them test it ? ;)

Year after year we tell people that we generally don't trust the so called "professional" testing of pool stores over your own with good reagents and practice. You've just found out why ;)

Trust yourself.

Yep, it is like verifying an atomic clock with a sun dial. On a cloudy day. In the arctic circle during winter. And you sent some random guy you found on the street to check it... Ok, I might have lost the metaphor a bit there. But seriously, the point is you have a more advanced test kit than the pool store so going to them to verify your results is silly. Yes, you might make a mistake from time to time but I would trust your results over theirs any day of the week!
