Intellicenter FW 1.047 solves Intellicenter/Intellichem integration problem?

I previously posted a problem with intellicenter/intellichem integration where the intellichem would believe that it was in spa mode, even though the only defined, single-body of water in intellicenter is pool. This was determined because the intellichem would indicate sDosing when the Intellichlor was on. The "s" means intellichem is in spa mode, and therefore dosing at 25% normal setting. I had to set my intellichlor on time to 4x the desired time to get what I needed. This was all with intellicenter at FW 1.040. The problem seemed to be confirmed by at least one other person. I updated the older thread but its possible no one on it is still on the forum to see it.

I upgraded my intellicenter to FW 1.047 last weekend 9/19/2020, and this weekend, 9/27, I did my routine FC test and it was off the charts high. Thinking it was just the days getting shorter, lower CL demand, I went to lower the on time of the intellichlor. As I was looking at the front panel I noticed it was "Dosing", not "sDosing".

I'm thinking the intellicenter 1.047 FW update must have corrected how intellicenter reports what body of water is on to intellichem causing the intellichlor to run 4x longer than needed now?

Anybody else seen this change?

I'm emailing Pentair support to see if they can confirm this fix was in 1.047.

Checking the firmware release notes for version 1.046 there are a couple of fixes related to IntelliChem.
- Intellichem acid tank level keeps going back to 0 when external device values modified instead of intellicenter user interface.
- IntelliChem Water Temp Always Obtained from Body2.
The following thread has further details on all the fixes.

I cannot confirm this exact change but I have seen improvements in the Intellichem / Intellicenter integration post 1.047.

I had lots of issues (some of which could have been a consequence of the above bug). However, after careful checking and testing, I still seem to have 2 issues, namely:

1. If I dose chlorine to my pool (I only have Intellichem on the pool despite also having a spa) using the “by volume” setting, I very quickly (within 10 minutes) receive an overdose error, irrespective of the parameters used and the fact that the ORP setpoint has not been reached (aNd is way out of sight of the actual ORP level).

2. if I change to “dosing by time” then I can get actual ORP to (pretty much) match the setpoint but the tank level does not change. Very irritating as my home is a beach house and so, having the Intellicenter App say the chlorine tank is still full when it is I’m fact empty makes remote management very difficult.

Have you checked the maximum dose volume limit for ORP in the intellichem? If the system doses enough chlorine to hit that limit it will trigger an ORP feed limit. Depending on how you have the intellichem setup you'll either have to reset it manually, or it resets every 24 hours.

I use SWCG so I have no experience with the second issue.

I have played around a bit more and I can get dosing by volume to work when I use imperial measurements but not when I use metric measurements...

I am probably the person you are referring to about the “sDosing” issue when with the IntelliCenter and IntelliChem connection. I have been waiting for an update to the issue and found that they had finally updated the firmware. I usually tried using the update thru the IntelliCenter panel but after a firmware check it always stated that it was on the latest version. Apparently you have to manually update the panel by downloading the firmware and copy to a USB stick then install it via USB to the panel. I decided to search the forums to see if anyone else seen a deference and came across your post. I am hoping this will fix my dosing issue. Thanks for updating on your issue with a resolve. Hoping to get the update installed this weekend. I will report back with results.
