I inherited a hayward swg. I had to replace the motherboard last year and did so with an aftermarket board which is now the r8.88 (88-0 product). I have a turbo t-cell 15 which I'm not sure of the lifespan but figure it's nearing the end. Anyway, added salt which started at 0ppm and turned on my swg the next day. It would turn on but the instant salt level quickly dropped from -1200 to -0, and then would kick off with the low salt and inspect cell light on. I tried to recalibrate numerous times but kept going to -0 on instant saltv level. Even after cleaning cell it did the same. Checked the salt at Leslies and it was 1850ppm. I added 3 more bags today which should put me at roughly 2700ppm tomorrow.
My question, if it continues to do the same thing with a proper salt level does that mean my cell is bad or should I be concerned about the aftermarket board being faulty? The board was hardly used at all last pool season as my pool was under a remodel so I figure it's the cell because it's at minimum 4 years old but perhaps older. Thanks in advance.
*I've done my research and this aftermarket board should be compatible with the t-15 cell.
