Installing a pool in winter

We just purchased a pool online from The Pool Factory. We're going to have it professionally installed and the pool will be partially buried on one side, about 18 inches due to a slight slope in our yard. Our contractor wants to do the install in January. Is there anything wrong with doing a winter install? I live in North Central Texas, so it could be slightly warm in January, or it could be icing...there's really no telling what the weather will be like and it changes back and forth from warm to cold very quickly. I have not been able to find another contractor in my area for a second bid or second opinion. Any opinions appreciated!

Welcome to TFP!

I would ask when they plan on filling it and are there any issues with freeze damage if it's filled before spring. If they don't fill but do install the liner, is the cold going to damage it potentially? These would be the first questions I asked them.
