INCONSISTENT FORMULAS TO DETERMINE POOL VOLUME - everybody does it different, why ?

There are no standard ovals or ellipses.

So, you have to find the area and multiply by the average depth to get cubic feet and then multiply by 7.48 to get gallons.

You have 363.1 square feet.

If the average depth is 5 feet, that gives you 1,805.5 cubic feet and 13,505 gallons.

Does the shape below match the shape of your pool?

Can you show a picture of your pool?

Oh, and to answer the question posed in this thread's title... The formulas are different because they're measuring different shapes. The "5.9" formula is for a pool shaped like an ellipse, and the "6.7" formula is for a pool shaped like a rectangle with a half-circle on each end.
