Imagine Illusion 40 Complete 10/19/21

Recieved the dreaded text from pool builder that pool is going to be 3-4 weeks out. There goes my little bit of swim time. I knew it would happen but nothing I can do about it. I'm wondering if I should just have him store it over the winter n go for an early spring install?
Nooooo! I‘m sorry about your swim time, but I wouldn’t delay your install until next year. No guarantee that something else won’t happen next year - alien invasion, zombie apocalyps, who knows?

Considering all the videos on Youtube Skippy watches, he's sure there is going to be a UFO invasion. Get the pool. Martians probably cant swim.

Maddie :flower:
And we know zombies can’t. All those video games show them being stumped by bodies of water.

Will having the fence up be a problem when it comes to big equipment getting in there to dig?
I believe the problem will be when the go to regrade the yard after the pool is set. PB told me to wait for the fence til he's completely done. I said ok. It'll take the fence guy 2 days to put it up. He's got to cement the post and come back the next day to do the chain link and add the custom made gate.

Mine needs a 16ft hole for the excavator and almost that much for the cement truck. To put it in, just to take out a big chunk and have to put it BACK in....... paying for all 3...... is kinda crazy.

And they will usually need to enter the yard where the gate will be with extra concrete reinforcing the gate so it sucks that much more to take it out.

So... I have nothing to do this summer so I've decided to concentrate on some curb appeal. I've gotten to know my wonderful new neighbor across the street. Her husband is a state trooper and he's very cold. I understand it. I see guys who work Corrections like that all the time. They had a bad experience with the woman who owned my house and it has made him bitter. But she is more willing to speak n be neighborly. I'm not done with him though. I know a way to a man's heart is through his stomach so I'm going to make him some jerky. I will get a good repor with him one way or the other! I've been known to make them over chicken patties and that is NO LIE! LOL

I tore out my husband's plantings he did last year (he cannot remember doing it). I replanted them elsewhere and bought new plants. I got some plantings I was just going to plug in the ground for my pool site n transplant them in the fall but I like where they are so I'm keeping them where they are. I have to remove more sod but the rain has put everything on hold right now. I have nothing but time. I bought 25 bags of mulch and have 6 bags left. I need more but here are some pics of the last 2 days.

I have a DE filter, both in my current and previous pool, and have always been an advocate for DE. My son now owns the house across the street from me and has a similar pool with a cartridge filter. (Guess who does much of his pool Maintainance). Having now had more experience with both, building new, I would go with a cartridge over DE. Just make sure it’s a big as you can afford and you will love it.

It's already ordered and I'm ok with the DE. I love it. I really don't want to try anything else.

He killed 2 dappled willows already. I'm pretty upset over it. He has no idea how it happened but I'd imagine a weed whacker was involved along with a riding mower.

I also got my fence quote. That one hurt on top of the trees being murdered. I just paid it off though. Check it off the list.

Got hammered today for a $4k AC unit. The one here is 25 years old. I specifically remember telling my husband and the inspector it looked ancient but both said it was fine. Well... it's not. They don't even make the refrigerant for it anymore and the home warranty wouldn't cover a new one so guess who is buying a new AC unit?! Me! Ugh... I should've just spent the money last year. He went down in the basement and said the furnace would be next. Of course it will be. I'm going to try to get through next winter with it. I can not go through the summer without an AC unit AND a pool. There is no freaking way!!!
