I test after an hour. I’ve been testing after I add it to see. BUT we still need to constantly add acid. It’s ridiculous

As the ta goes down it will get better- most people notice ph stabilizing with ta about 60. Do you have any sources of aeration? Waterfall, bubblers, etc?

I have watched this thread since it started. DMS you haven’t given dosages when asked. How much muriatic acid are you adding, that you then check in an hour? 8oz, 32oz, a gallon? What percentage of MA? How often? Every other day, every day?

We are talking about your pool but I add 32oz of 31.45% MA every 4 days or so in my 26k gallon pool. That drops my pH from 7.8 to ~7.4 Its double that amount if I add 14.5% MA.
