No. SWGs are not designed to create or maintain an elevated FC SLAM level. For the SLAM Process, it's best to use liquid chlorine and leave the SWG off.
Ok thats kind of what I thought, I still think I will go for for the bigger cell for the increaced life of the cell, I guess i was just being hopfull that I could ditch dealing with liquid chlorine.

That certainly is a common recommendation. At least 2X the size of your pool to help for normal operations.
Assuming good chemistry management, you should never need to SLAM.
If you get bad algae, then you need liquid chlorine.
For a minor amount of algae where you need to maintain a SLAM level, you might be able to maintain with the SWG after you raise the FC to SLAM level with liquid chlorine.
