I tested my water today and had no chlorine. After a mini panic attack, I added some liquid chlorine I had handy. Then I went around to my IC40 to figure out what was going on and noticed a red "Low Salt" light. I checked the Intellicenter and it was happy and showing 3,000 ppm. I assume these two use the same salt sensor in the IC40, right?

Any ideas? Hopefully I'm not at end of life for my IC40, but I am approaching the 5 yr mark on it.

PS - Reason number 1,547 to run your pool hot to give yourself some buffer when the unexpected happens.

JJ,

On the surface, that does not make sense as the IntelliCenter just shows what the cell reports.. So, if the cell thinks the salt level is 3000, it should not have a low salt light..

I would assume a bad cell, but have not seen that failure mode before.

I think I'd add a bag of salt, and see if the 3000 in the IntelliCenter goes up and maybe the low salt light will go away.

Let's see what @JamesW has to say..

Thanks,

Jim R.

Thanks, I rebooted the box outside and now just received the "Low salt warning" on the app and Intellicenter.

I'll test the salt to see what it really is, but at least the Intellicenter and IC40 are both indicating low salt now.
