IAqualink Upgrade

I have an older Aqualink system and I am looking to upgrade to control over wifi. After reading several threads in this forum, I think I have an idea of what I need to purchase, but my configuration is a little bit different than anything I've seen.

I have a 6474-F power center PCB, so I think that means I need the IQ20-RS or IQ30-RS iAqualink upgrade kit.

But my confusion is that even though I have the exact same PCB as the thread below, the face plate on the front side of the board is different, to where the IQ20RS face plate won't fit into my cabinet as is (even though I think everything else will work since the PCB is the same).

Attached are pictures of my board and cabinet. My face plate attaches with two screws in the front instead of tabs on the side, and I don't have room for the extra auxiliary board.

So how should I upgrade to IAqualink with my current setup? Is there a different version of the IQ20RS? Or a way to modify the plastic on the face place to fit into my cabinet? Or do I need a whole new cabinet to make it work? Thanks!20230409_102800.jpg20230409_173842.jpg20230409_112529.jpg

Welcome to TFP.

Your cabinet is from an ancient Jandy Aqualink JI-x000 series that came out before the "RS" style Aqualink that we've had since the late 90s that used to look like this and has been upgraded once...

Jandy has upgrade kits for the JI to Aqualink RS but I don't know if those boards support iAqualink. You may need to talk to Jandy or a Jandy dealer.

Or else you need to get a new Aqualink system with a cabinet.

Or depending on what equipment you have use this as an opportunity to get away from Jandy and get a Pentair IntelliCenter.

An Intellcenter, while a good upgrade, is at minimum 4 times the cost of upgrading the Aqualink board if OP can make the new one fit.

That is, indeed, one of the old upgrade PCBs. However, the physical PCB itself is just screwed to the power box mount. Perhaps you could unscrew your old PCB from the mount and screw the iAqualink upgrade PCB to it.

The upgrade route mentioned above is irrelevant because it's already been upgraded to an ALRS system.

Thanks! Good to know I have an old Aqualink JI series that has been upgraded.

I removed my old PCB from its bezel mount and verified everything on the interface (screws, lights buttons, etc) is the same as the new iAqualink PCB. So I beleive it should be just as simple as you say to just mount the new PCB on my old bezel. Appreciate it
