I have , (maybe a dumb) question but I cannot for the life of me figure out how to tell What RPM my filter pump is running at when on. Where can I find the info? I assume it is somewhere in the web interface seen below? I have clicked the Status button but no information is displayed. I am afraid it is running at full speed all the time as my electric bill is really high. And second part of my question, what speed should I be running it to filter the water properly but use the least amount of electricity? Thanks!

It's supposed to be on that screen.

Have you checked to make sure the RS-485 communications cable is seated properly on both the Aqualink board and the pump controller?

I have not, do you have a quick picture of what I should be looking for?

That screen is what it looks like when running a single speed pump. It's telling you the filter pump relay is closed and supplying power to the pump. If it is indeed a single speed pump it will be running 3450 RPM.

In the main setup menu there is an item that says something like VSP pump setup. That page is where you set up a variable speed pump if you have one, If its a Jandy Epump it will be listed in the setup page with the filter pump setting.

I suspect that you don't have a variable speed pump, or someone never set it up right.

Can you post a picture of the pump?

Here is System setup page, and I took a picture of the pump.. They should be variable speed, and I have two of them.

What does the VSP Setup selection item show? If the VSP pumps are set up then they should show on that screen. If you don’t have two Epump’s enabled then they haven’t been set up, and probably don’t have the RS-485 control cable connected between the RS controller and the pumps.

Thanks for all your help! Here is what VSP setup shows..

So it looks like you have the VSP setup correct yet you don't see the Epump's showing up on the status screen. Turn both of your pumps on and then press the Status button down on the bottom. You should see something like this, except that you should see two Epumps instead of the one that I have.

With the pumps on then press the help button on the bottom and keep pressing next until you see the RS-485 devices attached. Here's a shot of what mine looks like.

Then press the Next button one more time and see what the Errors screen is showing?

If the RS-485 links to the motors are working you should see both motors show up on the list of RS-485 devices and you should have no errors on the Errors screen.

There's one more setup screen for each motor to set the various speeds, but even if that wasn't set up the defaults should be good enough and that won't cause the motor not to show up on the status screen. Just for completeness here is what that screen looks like:

Let me know what your corresponding status and help screens show when you have both your pumps on? That should help identify what's going on with your system.

Okay, so the RS-485 cables to the pumps are hooked up and working as they show up and there are no errors.

But your speed setup page is not correct as all the keywords have been deleted. For example when the pump is running and just filtering the pool keyword on row 1 tells the pump what speed to run. Someone has deleted all the standard keywords from your speed setup for pump 1. It's likely the same for your second pump also.

Do you have a combo pool / spa RS system, or just a single Pool unit?

If you have a pool / spa combo the first 6 rows in the table are essentially fixed (with maybe the exception of cleaner and that depends on a dip switch setting). The iAqualink uses those standard keywords (Pool, Spa, Pool Heat, Spa Heat, etc) to associate those functions with speeds. If you have a pool/spa Aqualink RS then change your first 6 rows to match the names I have on mine above. You two Aux labels and associations should only be in rows 7 and 8 as those aren't preassigned functions. For example row 7 can be named (Aux B11, or some other more descriptive name) and you should also have Assign to Aux set to B11. The same thing goes for row 8 and Aux E31, but I don't recognize those Aux numbers as being standard ones, so I don't know what they mean. Do you have add on boxes with additional Auxiliary relays in them?

If you just have a single water body RS unit like for a Pool only the keywords are different. Instead of Pool Heat and Spa heat it's Temp1 and Temp2. @PoolGate can probably show you his speed setup page as he has the Pool only model. You can also look at the Aqualink manual to see what the default keywords are.

It's important that those standard keywords match what the system expects them to see as that's the way it associates the speeds with the different functions the Aqualink is doing. And it's also important not to reorder them as certain rows in the table are associated with certain functions.

Thanks again for all you help!! I got the "Assign to Aux" cleared, but when I click speed label nothing happens. Is there another area when I change the speed label?

Also I have pool and spa, so I would assume this is combo pool / spa RS system

Clicking within the "Speed Label" box should bring the below up. This might be something you can only do on a computer if you are trying this through the app.

@PoolGate that does not seem to be working. I tried from multiple browsers.. Maybe that's why these were not labeled when PB setup??

They are set up by default the builder doesn't do any of it. Try totally power cycling Aqualink and trying it. Maybe also try incognito mode.

Those screens look correct.

A couple of thoughts, you might try clicking the button on the VSP Setup page that says "Restore Speed Defaults". I'm not sure what that will do, only reset the min and max speed ranges on that VSP Setup page, or if it will also restore the default speeds and Speed labels on the VSP Speed Setup page also?

So you are saying that when you click on any of the blank Speed Label rows you don't get a "General Labels" screen like @PoolGate showed in message #14?

What do the Speed Labels show for your Auxilary pump, and for that matter for Epump3 and Epump4 that are not installed. On my not installed pumps the Speed Labels all say Speed 1 through Speed 8 on the different rows.

If that "General Labels" screen isn't available to you something may be wrong with your system and if might be time to call Jandy customer support and have them log into your system to see if they can figure out what is going on?
