IAQUALINK 2.0 IQ20-A wifi stopped working, ethernet does work

Guys,

About a year ago upgraded my Jandy power Control center to Zodiac iAquaLink 2.0 Upgrade Kit for RS Systems | IQ20-RS that uses IQ20-A comms module.

Everything worked fine for about a year, but 3 days ago I lost WiFi connectivity. Went through troubleshooting steps, but Aqualink wifi SSID does not show up on any on my devices (iphone, laptops, etc). I did not change my router.

I switched to Ethernet cable mode and I got connectivity.

I even tried WPS method that my router supports - no luck.

Power cycling, double toggling wifi/ethernet switch - nothing works.

Talked to zodiac support, tried his procedure, and the person confirmed I am out of luck...

Anybody had similar issue and have been able to revive the wifi connection on the IQ20-A?

Is there a management IP/Port I can access on the device to see what's going on?

I will try replacing the PX/U.fl Pigtail rf connector with wifi antenna - see if that helps.

It is unfortunate to see that the comms module replacement cost $300, and only lasts a year or. Definitely not giving more $ for Zodiac.

jandy's stuff has been kinda hit or miss for me. At 10 years old, the spa pump, waterfall pump, heater, and filter have been trouble free. However, Rebuilt the circ pump, replaced the cleaner pump, had the rs8 board go out, one touch wireless controller failed (replaced with iaqualink) and on my third aquapure 1400. The 1.0 iaqualink randomly drops wifi connection for no reason and system has to be rebooted to make a connection. I was thinking of ugrading to 2.0 but your post has me rethinking that and just adding a wired connection.

Good point. I have been slowly removing jandy stuff from my pool as well - replaced jandy pumps with better intelliflo pumps, replaced jandy heater with better Hayward heater , replaced jandy salt system with light-year better Breeze salt system. The control system and the filter are the last jandy items left. I am not that surprised to see wifi go after a year, but hopefully Ethernet holds...

Replaced wifi antenna with new PX/U.fl Pigtail antenna - no success - still no wifi. Had somebody with android phone look for wifi - no luck... Lesson learned - no more wasting time on this POS wifi device. Bought myself a netgear ex2700 wifi range extender for $30, plugged iaqualink ethernet cable to it, and I am back online without any wires showing. It is ridiculous that jandy wants $300 for replacement device...

Just came accross this and having the same issue. How did you hide the wire? Also mine is outside so not sure how to keep the netgrear weather protected.
