I may have some trouble with return jet.

My return jet seems to be burping itself, we had heavy rains and wind last night and I didn’t check my pool this morning. When I got home from work today I noticed a loud unusual noise and ran down to check pump. The skimmer was loaded with tree dropping and Crud restricting water flow to pump filter but still flowing. Pump wasn’t overly hot but quite warm. After shutting pump down I notice my return burping and it doesn’t seem to be stopping anytime soon, anybody have any ideas? Note my return is also a light. The ground is not wet on the outside even when it rain heavy last night it looks to have dried up during the day. I will check it in the morning.89C699EF-C2A2-479C-A0D1-880DC2B2C57E.jpeg

I would check you filter pressure and see what it says and see if you need to "burp" it as well. I always worry that some of the smaller stuff got past the skimmer basket and is doing a number in the filter.

I’m looking to be ok, this morning when I checked it wasn’t burping bubbles. I’m thinking the skimmer basket was so full it cause the corrugated hoses create some air pockets? That will teach me to check morning and evening especially after a major rain and wind storm.

Say there Kim, you were saying some smaller stuff may have got passed my skimmer? I also have a basket in my pump as well that had gotten a bunch of Crud, with all that said I have a question. Should I take my DE filter apart and do thorough cleaning and start all over again fresh? My pressure seems to go up sooner and more often then ever before after bumping it, and then it only last like only 3 days.

If you were to see my sand when I did a deep clean on it this Spring Break you would think I did not have any baskets between the water and filter  Explain to me how a leaf the size of a quarter can get past TWO baskets? One in the skimmer and on the pump???? NO idea but it happened until I got my robot cleaner.

It would not hurt to clean your filter at all if you are up to it. When was the last time you did a complete break down of it?

When I closed the pool last year, everything was cleaned and put away. I didn’t get my pool installed till late June last year and didn’t have to deal with all this spring droppings from the trees. Those little helicopters are killing me. Maybe I should have delayed my pool opening? Last year I never did a backwash, just bumped the handle maybe 5 to 6 times after vacuuming. I will take it apart tomorrow and see how bad it is.
