ok bought the tool and tried to do it, it's not budging and part of the thing broke off inside. I give up. I'm calling leslie's tomorrow.
 
Ok spoke with the manager at Leslie's. He was very nice and said he was going to call Polaris and insist on them sending me a new one. we'll see if that helps. lol if not, I will insist on a return and i'll just try to forget that I replaced my booster pump last year and get a robot.
