Hum from skimmers

Hello Everyone,
A new summer comes a new issue. Just started yesterday. When the vaccum is running a hum comes from the skimmers, but when the vaccum not running no hum. When we rwmove half the hose links no hum, but adding the hose links back it hums. We are dumbfounded and baffled Any ideas?

Maybe you're picking up the echoing sounds of your pump through the hose?

I’ll go with leaves, needles or other debris stuck in one of the sections. You’ve already got it half narrowed down.

Thanks, but nothing in any of the hose sections or the vaccum. We even put a new vaccum on the end and as soon as we plug the other end into the skimmer we hear that humming from both skimmers. Poltergeist?

That changes everything. Try the flapper that you close to get better suction on the vac side. There should be a Phillips screw holding the flapper thingy tight. Maybe it’s loose and the flapper is a flappin
