how to replace booster pump housing

My Polaris PB4SQ booster pump housing is leaking and is of course out of warranty. The builder didn't use flex pipe and also left very little room on the pump front connection before teeing into the main 1.5in pipe. I have not had to do any plumbing repairs yet, so I'd like a good plan before I start in.

I would appreciate any suggestions on where to cut and what couplers to use, or if I should add in some flex pipe and fittings to make repairs easier in the future.

Cut the discharge pipe at the red line. Then unscrew that pvc fitting from the housing. Next unbolt the 4 bolts at the front of the pump and separate the motor from the wet end. Unscrew the wet end leaving the threaded pvc nipple intact in the bushing. Rebuild the suction side with reinforced flex hose on the existing nipple. Rebuild the discharge side with appropriate pvc fittings and unions.

Depending on the length of reinforced hose you acquire you may find you have to set the pump back a bit from its current location to keep the line kink free - in spite of those lines typically being field adjustable.
