How to remove an oil slick

I have an Aquaproducts Supreme Robot that I deployed overnight while the pool pump was off. This morning I noticed it did not do as good a job as usual and left debris it normally would have picked up. I reset the robot timer and saw it moving slower than usuaI. I also noticed a faint iridescent oil slick on the surface of the water.

Are the oil slick and slow movement related, what's going on, and what are possible solutions?

Greetings all,
My Aquabot robotic pool cleaner's pump motor leaked a significant amount of oil when it failed. Now I have a visible iridescent oil slick and my pool pool feels oily when I use it. Are there chemicals or other methods for getting rid of the oil ?

Anything absorbent. Oil pads from the auto parts store placed on the water, tennis balls in the skimmer, perhaps some polyfill. This is also one of those rare times we might recommend something from the pool store - Pool First Aid which contains an enzyme designed to digest oil.
