I have a friend with a vinyl liner pool that recently developed a leak. It's leaked down below the skimmer a bit, then stopped. If he puts water in it, it leaks down to that level again. The pump is now running, but the water level is stable. So that leads him to believe that it's in the wall of the liner at around the level where the water is now or maybe around the steps. He's walked around it multiple times and haven't been able to find it.
Other than paying $500 for a leak detection company to come out (what they quoted him), does anyone have any tips on what tricks or strategies he could try to find it himself?
