I'm new here and happy to have found TFP. Here is my situation/issue:
We have a 27 ft round above ground pool. We purchased from Family Leisure about 4/5 years ago and use the Perma Salt System (As I have read here that was a mistake). Well earlier this spring we had a major storm in our area and our pool was damaged. Our insurance covered the cost of a new pool and it was installed this week and we are in the process of filling it up. My husband was ready to do away with the pool completely because of the problems we had with our old pool. I did not want to do that so I said I would take over maintance of the pool. My question is what do I do once the pool is filled if I would like to do away with the Perma salt system and any SWG. I think we would rather use liquid chlorine then go through the hassle and expense of maintaining the Perma salt system. Can this be done with our pool? Can it be maintained with just chlorine instead of a SWG? Do we still need to add salt to the pool is we are not using the Perma salt system or a SWG? I have read in the Pool School and The ABC's of Pool Care, but still confused. Please help me learn what to do!!
Thanks,
Lindsay
