How to correctly size automatic pool cover?

I want to verified that my automatic safety pool cover was made to correct size. I think is too wide. My cover is made by coverstar. If my pool is 18x30 then how much over size cover should be? I’m near Chicago so we get snow. This is 4 season cover. Anyone is familiar with sizing ?

Sorry you've had no replies. Not sure how to answer. Why do you think your cover is too wide? Wrinkles? Or worse, creases? Wrinkles are OK, but creases are not. Show a photo.

I would have to search my files to determine the difference between my pool width and cover width, but I will if you need that detail. I can say that a single inch too much width can cause excessive wrinkling. Been there, done that.

There's got to be enough material so the when the water is halfway up the skimmer mouth it'll meet the water on a diagonal maybe 6-9 inches from the wall. Water level too high will make it look took big and water level too low will cause the ampacity limiter to cut out as there's too much drag going over far wall in the deep before it gets into the box.
