Ive been in my home for 7 years and it has an in ground pool I'd rather it not have. This forum has been helpful in keeping it something I just have to maintain instead of it always being a constant threat of disaster.
Since I don't use the pool, I've fallen behind on getting leaves out of it for the past 2 years before they sink to the bottom. As such theres a pretty significant clump at the deep corner. My question is what is the most effective way to get all of these out? Trying to scoop them with a net just stirs them up into an unmanageable cloud. Its like dealing with a squid that squirts ink.
I do have a cheap Amazon weighted vacuum head. This is what I've tried before. Vacuuming to waste. The problem is the basket next to the pump. After mere seconds of trying to vacuum the pile, this basket instantly clogs with leaves. Is it safe to run without that basket in if only to remove the leaves or does that risk damaging the pump? Are there any other solutions?
