I have some white spots on my steps in a couple spots in the pool. I went back through my photos to see when they first showed up. They were there early in the process, and I believe it happened while they put in the drains. I have added a couple photos that shows the first time I noticed them, and now what they look like with the the pool almost done. There is all kinds of the same white stuff on the edge of the pool, but most of that got covered up with the auto cover and concrete. Not sure what I can use to get these off. I tried a magic eraser but that did nothing. They are on the texture part of the steps so I think that is making it difficult to remove. PB says they will eventually go away since the water chemistry is now balanced. I have my doubts about that. TIAIMG_7138.jpgIMG_7140.PNG

I was going to say a Magic Eraser too. Whatever dropped on the gelcoat may have left somewhat of a scar on the very outer portion of the coating. Not so sure they will go away on their own, but you can give it a season or so to see. Anything above water you could probably try a polishing compound. Underwater, the only think I can think of is perhaps 600-800 grit wet/dry sandpaper. But with any FG maintenance, test a very small area first to be sure you are happy with the result.
