A pool I'm familiar with but being managed by another guy, with Pentair Easytouuch/intelichem system and the guy says he puts in weekly 4-8 ounces. Can someone explain why this is needed but I think I know the answer $$$.Screenshot_20230818_144158.jpg

I believe that’s polyquat 60 if the label reads this

I am also curious about Algaecides. My uncle used to say that Algaecides (or Phosphate removers) are a complete waste of money and all we needed to do is maintain the proper Cl level
Your uncle is a very wise man. Chlorine is all that is needed to kill and prevent algae and phosphate removers are typically not needed in most pools. Those products are heavily pushed by pool stores since it makes them $, not because they are needed in your pool
