Hello - I'd like to keep my hot tub going in the winter, but it is a spillover into my pool. I have an automatic cover on my pool and a pump, so I can pump off any water that lands on the cover. However, my question is specific to the pipes freezing. I'm in Louisville, KY.
  • The Pentair superflo says it shouldn't run below 55 degrees. Does that mean I need to keep the heater on to a minimum of 55 at all times to the spa?
  • Should the pump always be running?
Thanks in advance for any advice on keeping my hot tub open while my pool is closed!

It appears you have a spa & pool combo and not a separate individual spa.
A picture of your pool/spa and also of your equipment pad would help confirm that.
If you have the spa & pool combo, then there should be 2 modes - Pool Mode and Spa mode. In Spa mode the suction would be from the spa and return to the spa - so there is no spillover to the pool.
Let us know if this is accurate or post pictures for clarification.
