I just purchased an IntelliCenter with load center and SWG to replace the old timer box and upgrade to SWG. Now I need to get it installed, and I'm a bit confused. My electrician doesn't know pools, and most pool companies in the area either build pools or service pools. Any suggestions on what type of contractor I should be looking for to replace my timer box/subpanel with the IntelliCenter? Thank you!

Find out what electricians the pool builders use.

Are you moving your power center (circuit breakers) to the Intellicenter enclosure?

I just did one. I had my electrician hang it, but if I were to do it again I’d do it myself. Once hung and tapped into 220, everything related to the intellicenter I read and showed the electrician. Check out the long AZ thread, everything you need to do it is covered.

Probably a hybrid approach is best, pay the electrician to hang and tap into the fuse box, then you do the rest.

I love the system, should have pulled all the other stuff off the wall years ago.

Yes. We currently have 2 Intermatic boxes, 1 for the pool pump (Intelliflo VS) and 1 for the waterfall (Hayward single speed). I intend to remove both, and run everything through the IntelliCenter. The project started because we added a heater that needed to be controlled along with the VS pump, and we wanted to add SWG as well. At the same time, we have lights, etc. that are controlled by switches. Wanting to run everything through the IntelliCenter and gain remote control as well. Next up, I'd like to add the IntelliChem with a pump for muriatic acid to eliminate the manual PH balancing.

That may be a feasible approach. I'll check out the post. Thank you!
