I am finishing up a SLAM after doIng citric acid treatment for staining and it’s going very well, seems like it will be done in the next day or so. My question is what chlorine level is safe to swim in? Due to my 50 CYA I had to shock at 20 ppm so it is going to take some time for chlorine level to drift down to safe levels. What is the highest level that is safe for swimming? Thanks!

It is safe to swim when you can clearly see the bottom and the FC is above the minimum for your CYA.
We also generally suggest you can swim when the FC is below the shock level for your CYA ... although it would likely be "safe" even above that.

You didn't shock your pool right after doing the citric acid treatment, did you? That's a no-no unless you want the stains to precipitate out of solution and back on your pool walls and floors.
