High phosphate reading from pool store...279. I want an independent, but this is a local pool store, and their readings are reasonably trustworthy - I have compared their FC, CYA readings etc, with my own test results and they are typically in line with mine - so I have no reason to believe their phosphate reading is far off...

Suggestions?

18000 IG, SWG, 1/2 HP Tri Star + Solar PV direct DC Lorentz pump, Sand filtrt

Disregard phosphates......they don't matter. Google the many, many discussions on this forum.

You would improve your pool water management if you trusted your own testing and stayed out of the pool store.

The first question is 279 what, ppb or ppm? If its ppb your in a range that even if you really wanted to control phosphates you would take no action until you where above ~300ppm.

If you keep your FC within range, and with a SWG thats not hard, there is no need to bother with phosphate management.
