Hello,

I can't seem to get my Ph below 8. I had the same issue last year. If I add acid, it does lower the Ph but then it just shoots right back up within a few days. Last year, I went through several gallons of acid doing this flip flop. I have a SWG, unsure if that is causing it. My TA is a little high at 120.

I guess my question is, can I just keep the Ph around 8 and be safe?

Thanks,
Dan

Higher TA levels accelerate pH rise. Lowering your TA would slow pH rise, but that may be a challenge depending on the TA of your top-off water. That aside, there is nothing wrong with maintaining pH at 8.0 ppm.
