My pool is new plaster and has been running about a month. It seems like my pH has always been a little on the high side. A couple of weeks ago I started using the cool misters to cool my water. My alkalinity is good at 80, PH >8, chlorine to high at 5. I've heard that aerating the water can cause pH problems. Suggestions?

Hello and welcome! 
Suggestion …. muriatic acid and keep plenty on hand. Your plaster will be curing for months causing the pH to rise. Acid is the best cure. Also make sure to not have any forms of aeration going which contribute to pH increase as well.

I've been adding a lot of acid. I guess I was concerned about adding more since my TA was good at 80?
So I should remove my cool misters for now?? They really seem to be cooling the pool a bit!!

Cool misters probably not such a big deal. Light misting is okay. It's the heavy, pulsating water pounding from bubblers, waterfalls, spillovers, etc. Now it's just the nature of new plaster curing. Patience and muriatic acid always ready when the pH tried to creep over 7.8.
