I had pretty high alkalinity (290). I read somewhere that I can add low amount of dry acid and daily and it will drop with out huge effect on ph. So I have been adding about 20oz daily and now my alkalinity is at 214. My ph drop a little to 6.9. I read about water aeration to increase ph without increasing alkalinity. I turn my deck jets on and put pool cover pump on my first step. I only did if for a day is that really will increase my ph?

Any other good way to drop alkalinity with out messing ph levels?

As much as it takes to raise the pH. If focusing on lowering TA, drop the pH to 7, aerate to 7.4, repeat. Once down to 70 TA or so, then let pH rise to 8 before lowering to 7.6
