I’m a newly-minted homeowner (like, for three weeks now) and first-time pool owner, too. I was lurking in the swimming pool subreddit, and it was there that I found out about TFP. And not a moment too soon!
At first glance, all of the figures and terminology had my head spinning, but now it’s starting to coalesce into a (slightly!) more clearly understood methodology. I have bought test kits, added liquid chlorine to the pool, and today I intend to lower the pH a bit. The degree of confidence I have in doing so comes from you all and this forum, as well as the associated app, so thank you!
For the record, we live in Sacramento, CA; our pool is 14 years-old, in-ground concrete with a volume of 14K gallons. We have a solar heating unit for the water on our roof and a variable-speed pump. Today the forecast is for a high of 103F, and because of TFPC I know without a doubt that we will be using it later this afternoon!
Thanks again to everyone here!
