Good afternoon!

I recently just purchased a new Intex Automatic Pool vacuum from Amazon and I started reading on the forums here how people have hooked them up with their existing filter. I have an Intex sand filter so I'm sure I'll be able to do this but I'm pretty dumb when it comes to anything plumbing related so I was hoping someone could help me with what I will need to purchase in order to have my return AND the vacuum setup. I've attached pictures of my current setup.

Any help you can all give will be most helpful! Thanks!!

Based on the pictures and assuming you purchased the outflow type cleaner, you should be able to unthread the directional discharge nozzle and attach the new cleaner in its place. As noted at length, the new hoses on the cleaner appear to leak, but this is normal.

It looks like you installed a REGULAR hayward type return...
I purchased this...

Then I put the end of the hose for the pool cleaner into some hot water, and pushed it onto the barb. Like this....

It fits so tightly that I didn't even need a hose clamp on it.
