Hello! I have owned a pool for years, but recently had a new home constructed and decided to also do a new pool. Anyway - I have the Screenlogic app on both my ipad as well as my android phone. I heard that it is easier to program using the PC version - so downloaded the PC version but I am somewhat lost. My understanding is that to create the nice waterfall effect from my Pool/Spa I need to go to the outside box and hit the "V" to change to the Spa Fill mode. However, I am told you can have this automatically done through the ScreenLogic PC version. My understanding is that I should set up a spillway feature in the PC. My ultimate goal is that I want to have my pump run at 2k RPM around 12 hours a day. Turn off the spa circulation - but then run the spillover twice per day for 30 minutes so that we have a good recirculation of chemical water into/out of the spa to make sure that the spa water is fresh. Hoping that this will reduce the amount of scale that is building up. Even if the idea is bad - I personally like the way the spillover looks - so would like the ability to turn it on/off via automation versus needing to go to the box. In any case- when I look at the PC version - I can't seem to add a new circuit. Not sure if I need to first add this to the box and then set it up in the PC? I think where you add this function is in step 2 - but again your expertise would be appreciated.

Can you edit the "Waterfall" circuit to have the function "Spillway"? That should do it. Not sure what "Valve" means.

Also, your Pool circuit should probably have function "Master Pool".

Hkd,

You appear to have a "Lite" verson of an EasyTouch, and have used all the Circuits that are available to you.

Also, the Lite version only has the ability to have 4 total Schedules or programs, and that includes any egg-timer Circuits not set at their default of 12 hours. I say this because to schedule the Spillover mode twice a day would use up two of your four schedules and I suspect you already have two or more schedules now.

Do you actually have a separate waterfall or is it your spa spillover?

Do you have a Pressure side cleaner that has a booster pump that needs to run from Aux 1

Just so you know.. ScreenLogic will let you add five billion schedules, unfortunately, only four of them will work and it won't tell you.

Sorry,

Jim R.

@Jimrahbe Thank you. The waterfall and bubblers are somewhat confusing names (in my opinion). I should rename it - but that is what the pool builder named it... waterfall = the actuator that controls the sheer descents (I have 2 of them). The bubblers = the actuator that controls the 2 bubblers that I have at the tanning ledge and the 1 bubbler I have in the spa. Initially, I thought it would be cool to have those on a schedule - but it didn't work (I suspect because as you said I am only allowed 4 schedules). So here are a few questions:
1. I deleted all schedules except for pool, cleaner, and lights. Please see Pic for the schedule. Not sure if that is what you mean by only being able to run 4.
2. If I go to the SL PC version, would I change the Circuit Name from "Bubbler" to "Spillover" and Circuit Function to "Spillover" -Will that allow me to put a timer on the Spillover? Under schedules (at the main board) - I have a "1" next to Cleaner, Pool and lights. Everything else is 0.
3. Ok - here is a weird one. When I go to the board to select "Fill / Spillway" - the SPA DRAINS. When I select "Drain" the Spa Fills! The pool tech said he went through every function he could and could not find a way to reverse those so that Fill = Fill and Drain = Drain...any ideas?
4. On a similar question to #3. In order for me to initiate either Fill or Drain - it is a very manual process. First I have to go to the board and select "TimeOut", Then I hit "V" to select "Drain or Fill" then I have to push the "Start" button on the pump and select Speed 4. My pump is Intelliflow. Ultimately - I would like to be ablet o push a button and/or timer (as mentioned in #3). I actually like the look of the sheer water coming from the spillover as it is kind of cool.
5. I do not know much about this Lite version - but eventually I want to have landscape lights hooked up and automated. Will I not be able to do that with the Lite board - or at least if I am running 4 schedules I am SOL? Any idea how much it costs to upgrade panels?

Thanks!

Oh - and to answer your question about the pressure side cleaner - yes - I have a pressure cleaner w/ booster pump.

hkd,

Your pics shows that you have tree "schedules". That means that you can add one more schedule.

99.9% of people never use the Drain and Fill cycle, so why do you think you need it?

Most Spas constantly spillover into the pool. Does your spa not do that? Show me several pics of your equipment pad from different angles. I need to see the plumbing that is sending water back to the pool/spa.

The fact that the spa fills when it should drain and visa versa, most likely means that you Intake and Return valves are connected to the wrong ports on the EasyTouch board. To "Drain" the spa, the Intake valve should move to suck water from the Spa and the Return valve should move to send all the water back to the pool. To "Fill" the spa, the intake valves should move to suck water from the pool, and the Return valve should move to send all the water back to the spa. You should be able to watch these valve move when you select Fill or Drain. (Again.. Why are you doing this???)

With your current set up limit of 4 schedules, you could add landscape lights, but that would be your 4th schedule.

I'm going to send you a PM.. Calling Tom @ogdento

Thanks,

Jim R.

Here are several pics. When the pump is on the water will spill over into the pool but it is more.of a trickle. I like the sheer descent that happens when I do the spillway. Also - when I clean the spa - I like to put the drain on AMF m ove the dirt towards the spa drain

hkd,

Your basic problem is that you only have one pump and have several things all going at the same time.

You realistically can't be running your pool returns, pool fountain, waterfall and spa fountains all at the same time. I would think that even running the pump at full speed, this would be pretty hard to do. What speed do you normally run your pump?

You could set up a Spillway Circuit and just turn it on with a ScreenLogic icon. But since you only have two Feature Circuits, you would have to give up one of them..

Not sure who sold you the ET- lite, but he had no clue what he was doing.

Thanks,

Jim R.
