We're getting close to digging but concerned that I have too many lights in the pool. The pool will be 32x17 with 8x7 spa and tanning ledge. The plans show 3 lights in the pool, 1 on the tanning ledge and then 1 in the spa. Is this overkill and will be too bright? Should I just do 2 in the pool, 1 on the tanning ledge and 1 in spa?

Attached are the plans

I'm planning on 12v microbrite colored lights

Thanks for your help!

Pentair guideline is to aim for 4 lumens per square foot of pool surface. For example, if the pool is 500 sq-ft then you need 500x4=2000 lumens. This would be 4 MicroBrites or 2 IntelliBrite rgb.

I think it will be perfect. I would nudge a pool light closer to the steps to give them good illumination. All the lights should face away from your house or main seating area (which appears how it's planned).

Here's my pool with five MicroBrites. I wish I installed one more to illuminate the dark area by the entry steps.
